Congregation Solel’s 5th annual Human Rights Shabbat on March 16th will feature guest speaker Dena Weiss, Development Associate at AJWS Chicago. Dena will speak about the work that AJWS is doing with the Rohingya in Burma (Myanmar) and Bangladesh. The Rohingya are being persecuted and massacred by the Burmese military in an effort to “ethnically cleanse” their country. This has created a refugee crisis as hundreds of thousands of Rohingya flee these atrocities.
