Congregation Solel is one of eleven synagogues planning and sponsoring the Chicago Jews for Refugees Assembly, which will be held from 2:00 to 4:00pm on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Anshe Emet Synagogue, 3751 N. Broadway, Chicago.

The Chicago Assembly is part of a multi-city program convened by HIAS to demonstrate support for refugees and asylum seekers.  The day will feature speakers, opportunities for activism, and a resource fair highlighting the work of Chicago-based organizations which support refugees and immigrants in a myriad of ways.

We invite all Solel members to attend the assembly to show your support for refugees and asylum seekers and send a message that our country must return to welcoming those in need.  By coming to the assembly you also will learn more about the organizations which help bring refugees to the U.S. and help them adjust to their new lives, and how Solel as a community, and you individually, can work with these organizations.
