From the Religous School Council

Dear Parents,

On behalf of the Religious School Council, we are delighted to welcome you to a new school year at Congregation Solel Religious School. With an outstanding staff of veteran teachers and some bright new recruits, 5769 promises to be another successful year of Jewish learning for our children. Let us tell you some of the ways in which the Religious School Council supports our Religious School, and its families and children:

• We welcome new families to the Religious School, and help make them feel part of the Solel community;

• We evaluate curriculum and policies in tandem with the Director of Education to ensure the continued excellence of our program;

• We provide resources and support for Solel's families as they prepare for Bar or Bat Mitsva;

• We honor our teachers by offering them assistance and recognizing their accomplishments.

As your representatives in all matters affecting our Religious School and our children, we warmly invite you to share with us your thoughts, time, and talents. Volunteer to be a room parent. Join a committee of the Religious School Council. Join us in celebrating holidays by participating in special holiday activities at school. Help plan a grade level Shabbat dinner. Attend a field trip. Enhance our children's safety in Solel's parking lot by directing traffic. Attend family services with your children the first Friday evening of the month. Your involvement in these activities, and more, cements the critical partnership that links our homes to our Religious School.

Religious School Council meetings, held the third Thursday evening of most months, are open to the Congregation. We look forward to working together on one of the most important responsibilities of our Congregation¾ the Jewish education of our children.

Shalom,

Holly Krakow and Laurie Schnittman
