What We Believe

As Solelites, we believe lifelong learning is the privilege and obligation of every Jew.  At Solel, we have a storied history of programming around learning. That legacy continues to this day with eclectic and extensive offerings including—but not limited to—American Jewish short stories, Torah study, Israeli politics, Jewish humor, Abraham Heschel, current films, and much more.

Lev Learning (Religious School)

We strive to provide a welcoming and engaging Jewish educational and experiential environment. We do this through the warmth and care of our teachers, the quality and creativity of our curriculum, the active involvement of our parents, and the commitment of our congregation to foster the next generation of Jews. Our school is committed to building community and fostering positive Jewish identities for our children.

College Connection

It’s a long-standing tradition for our congregation to maintain contact with our students while they are attending colleges and universities. Our College Connection team — including Rabbi Moffic and Cantor O’Brien — regularly email our members’ college and university students to encourage them to maintain their Jewish practice and to provide information about opportunities such as Birthright Israel. Find out more about our College Connection program here.

Adult Education

Solel has a rich history of learning programming, and adult education has been a tradition since our founding. As a learning community, we recognize that Jewish education does not stop when Religious School ends. From ongoing classes and discussions to thought provoking special events, we offer a wide variety of opportunities designed to educate, enlighten and inspire.

All classes are produced by Solel or in conjunction with other local Jewish institutions. Since we believe lifelong learning is the privilege and obligation of every Jew, we do not charge our adult members for participating in most learning opportunities.
